Where to Eat Breakfast in Chattanooga

Breakfast, the most important meal of the day, can sometimes be a challenge, especially when travelling. To make your mornings here easier, let me share with you where to eat breakfast in Chattanooga.

Kenny’s

The first time I tried Kenny’s I was blown away by the quality and flavor they have to offer for the price you pay. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you enjoy your traditional breakfast foods, then you’ll have to give Kenny’s a try. Everything is made fresh in house from the pimento cheese to the hot sauce. My friend and I both got the open face ham and cheese omelet that is made with locally sourced ham, bell peppers, pimento cheese, and béchamel (a french white sauce comprised of butter and milk). I’ll be the first to tell you that this was not something I’d normally try as I’m not a huge fan of cheese, ham, or anything creamy. But their ingredients are such high quality that I loved it! Their menu always differs slightly as they change up their available ingredients by the season. So, there will always be something new to try here. I can’t wait to go again, maybe for lunch too.

Adelle’s Crêperie

Nestled in Southside Chattanooga is a little slice of France called Adelle’s Crêperie. They offer made-to-order crêpes of both the sweet and savory variety. Everything is made in house with the freshest ingredients. They even offer ice cream and milkshakes for a sweet treat. My mom and I tried Adelle’s and we were definietly impressed with the quality and heart that go into these crêpes. We got the “Best of Both” which allows you to choose one sweet and one savory crepe. Neither of us had tried a savory crepe before and we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. We got the “Better with Bacon” and “The Roma” for our savory choices and the “Triple Berry Bliss” and “Miss American Pie” for our sweet sides. Again, I cannot wait to go back to Adelle’s. Maybe this summer for their crêpes and ice cream.

The Blue Plate

Facing the river, The Blue Plate serves up food in refined American diner style. Their menu is served all day so you can be sure to have a breakfast dish at any hour. Ingredients are sourced locally in the US, even the tea! And you know how I am about my teas. The black tea is an organic Assam tea with a hearty black tea flavor. Also pictured above you’ll see the “Breakfast Platter” which includes well seasoned potatoes and a well-balanced french toast instead of the traditional side of regular toast most places offer. The “Club Omelet” with hash-browns was a delicious twist on a traditional meat and cheese omelet. It was filled with tomatoes, cheese, turkey, bacon, and avocado. Have you had avocado in an omelet before? Deliciously different! The Blue Plate is a great place for breakfast if you want something new yet familiar that won’t disappoint.

UPDATE: Unfortunately The Blue Plate is no longer open.
