How to Support Local Brands from Home

In these trying times, I believe it’s more important than ever to support our local businesses. Here’s how to support local brands from home in Chattanooga and beyond. Chattanooga has countless local brands and I’ve only had the pleasure of enjoying a few so far, but have many more I want to try soon. So for now, here are a few whose products I love.

Native Made

Native Made is an easy local brand to support from home because they are solely online. They have a few items around town in gift shops but their main showcasing is on there website. Shirts and stickers are their most popular products as well as hats, hoodies, buttons, and my favorite, a camp mug. Everything designed locally here in Chattanooga.

I cannot express how much I love this raccoon mountain sweatshirt. It’s the softest thing to wear that I own and even though it’s warm, it’s still breathable and well-balanced. This design is so nostalgic to me. Way back in the day, when I was nearly too young to remember, Raccoon Mountain was like a little amusement park with the main attraction being an alpine slide. I faintly remember being terrified as a child when my mom and dad would take me down it. Now I miss it and wish it was still there. All that to say, this sweatshirt is now a reminder of those childhood memories. The sweatshirt is currently out of stock but available for pre-order as the cooler months fade away, but HERE is the same graphic design in t-shirt form. The sweatshirt will be back again when the seasons change.

Burlaep

Burlaep is another easy local brand to support from home as they are home online as well. They also have some products in a few local gift shops but mostly focus on their website. Since they are outdoor enthusiasts, their main focal point is nature inspired shirts. Locally and eco-consciously screen printed shirts with great designs make them a must have on your list. They also specialize in making custom shirts with you, the customer, at the forefront.

When I saw the beautiful stone-wash green color of this “let’s go” mountain tank, I had to get it. It’s also very soft and I can’t wait to hike in it. My favorite though, would have to be this maroon Chattanooga floral shirt. Again, it’s very soft to the touch, but light and airy as well. I love their designs so much, it’s hard to just pick one!

Jill of All Trades

I met Jill of All Trades at a Chattanooga Market last year. I recognized her at a distance from her products. What I mean is, I stumbled on her Instagram page prior to the event and when I was at the market, her unique work was truly recognizable from afar. As her name implies, she enjoys dabbling in a lot of different medias from dying clothes to bending spoons into wall hooks or making jewelry and so much more. The best place to find her would be at the local markets, but while they’re closed, she will gladly work with you through private messaging on Facebook or Instagram.

We all know I love Chattanooga and what better way to say that than with the hills and trees that make this place so beautiful? When I saw this magnet, I knew I had to get it! Another item I got was this bleach dyed tunic. It’s such a unique piece of clothing and I love how simple yet functional it is. Because, if you know much about me, I love anything practical with plenty of functionality. So in translation to clothes, that means, give me some pockets please!

That sums up how to support local brands from home and the local brands that I’ve enjoyed so far. There are so many more to explore though and I’ll be sharing more with you later down the road. Until then, comment below some of YOUR favorite local brands so we can spread the love. I’ll see y’all next time Exploring Chatt!
