Ever wondered what the Scenic City looks like from the air? Well now you can see for yourself with Chattanooga Helicopters. Keep reading to learn more about this local business and how to schedule your flight with Chattanooga’s only helicopter tour service.

The Beginning of Chattanooga Helicopters

Noah started Chattanooga Helicopters in March of 2020. We all know how challenging that must have been with that launch date! But, despite what you may think, the business managed to grow. The idea came when Noah wanted to offer helicopter tours, but he didn’t know where to offer them. His fiance, Bailey, was working in Chattanooga at the time and suggested he come to the Scenic City for tours. Turns out, Chattanooga is the perfect place for helicopter tours with a beautiful downtown, stunning mountains and waterfalls, and the picturesque Tennessee River.

Chattanooga Helicopters Now

With over a decade of piloting experience, Noah has created a place for other helicopter pilots to earn flight hours while having fun giving tours. You’ll find that they offer lots of options for helicopter rides so there’s something for everyone. Follow Chattanooga Helicopters on social media so you can see when they announce specials like a date night with champagne or discount ride days.

Sight-Seeing from the Sky

Chattanooga Helicopters offers many flight options so you’re bound to find one you like. However, I’ll fill you in on some tips to help you narrow down the options if you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Lookout Mountain

“The Great Lookout Mountain Tour” is their most popular option. This helicopter ride takes you over Missionary Ridge, up to Lula Falls, Rock City, and circles around downtown on the riverfront. It’s an all-encompassing 20 mile ride that showcases what Chattanooga is all about, the beautiful outdoors and scenic downtown.

Downtown Chattanooga

“The Downtown Tour” is the next best flight option if you’re looking for something a little cheaper. This helicopter ride takes you over Missionary Ridge and circles the downtown riverfront. It’s a 10 mile ride that highlights the downtown Chattanooga area which I highly recommend seeing from the air.

Missionary Ridge

“The Ridge Runner” is the shortest option and is recommended for those who are concerned about flying in a helicopter. If you’re scared of heights, flying, or just not sure how you’ll react, this is a good way to test flight a helicopter ride. This 5 mile ride takes you over Missionary Ridge and back. But I’ll say, most people love it and wish they opted for a longer flight option.

I highly recommend “The Great Lookout Mountain Tour” as it really is the most scenic of the three I mentioned above. However, any flight is well worth it! You can’t beat the experience and the views from the sky are amazing.

Where to Find Chattanooga Helicopters

Once your reservation is made and it’s time to fly, you’ll find Chattanooga Helicopters inside the Wilson Air Center. When you arrive for your flight, simply walk in and find a seat in the waiting area to the left. A Chattanooga Helicopter representative will check you in when it’s time. From there, you’ll be escorted out to your helicopter ride. If you want more of a visual on this, watch my YouTube video.

Additional Helicopter Options

Chattanooga isn’t the only place you’ll find these helicopter tours. They now have a location in Cherokee, NC, so if you find yourself wanting to see the Smokies from the sky, you can! Just check out Cherokee Helicopters Tours to make a reservation.
