Where to Shop

Before I get into the details, let me start with places to shop where you will find many of the following items all under one roof.

The Chattanooga Market is a great place to look for last minute holiday gifts, especially when it’s their holiday market. The Chattanooga Market happens every Sunday at the First Horizon Pavilion in downtown Chattanooga, from late April until late November. But for the holidays, they offer a more gift focused shopping experience.

All year round, you can also shop at the Locals Only Gifts and Goods in Northshore Chattanooga. This is also perfect for last minute gifts that scream Chattanooga. Because everything in the store is locally made, and they even have gift box options to create the perfect Chattanooga gift for you.

Another great place to shop for unique, local gifts would be antique stores. Listed in no particular order, there’s Vinterest, with two locations to shop, Dirty Janes, The Refindery, and the East Ridge Antique District, just to get you started. Have another favorite local shop you enjoy? Comment it below so I can add it to the list!

Apparel and Accessories

Apparel

Burlaep is a local screen printing shop that creates unique, Chattanooga apparel items. Hats, hoodies, shirts, you name it, they probably have it. Not only can you order online, you can also shop at their storefront in downtown Chattanooga. I personally have purchased a few different shirts and a hoodie from this local Chattanooga shop.

Native Made is a local apparel company specializing in unique designs that showcase Chattanooga and surrounding areas of Tennessee. I personally have purchased a few different shirts and sweatshirts from this local business. You can purchase online, and if you’re local, you can request to do local pickup.

New South Trading Co offers locally designed apparel that displays the Scenic City of Chattanooga and the beauty of Tennessee. They don’t have a storefront so this will be an online only shopping experience. Perfect for gifting a little piece of Chattanooga to someone who doesn’t live here.

Accessories

Bela Co handcrafts simple jewelry with precious metals and stones to withstand the tests of life. Each piece is designed to be worn all the time, free from fragile worry. Brittany, the artist behind the jewelry, is inspired by the surrounding nature that makes the greater Chattanooga a unique space.

The August Sisters make their own colorful and whimsical jewelry with polymer clay and resin. These works of art will add a pop of fun and color to any outfit. Hannah and Sara-Anne are the sisters behind this business. They were both born in August, hence the name. Their jewelry oozes with creativity and encourages the wearer to be unashamedly themselves.

Wise Leather Works crafts quality leather accessories. From purses and wallets to belts and jewelry, you’ll find the perfect leather gift here. They sell their goods at local markets and on their website.

Home Goods and Decor

Candles

The Rustic House makes luxury candles right here in Chattanooga. They have many scents to choose from, as well as oil diffusers and other products to share some lovely smells. They sell them locally in numerous shops (including all the shopping locations listed above) and countrywide. And if you join their email list, you’ll be the first to know about good deals and sales online.

Ceramics

Trotwood Ceramics is a local ceramics crafter who sells at the local markets (including the Burlaep store) and online on Etsy. She is best known for her footie mugs which have a smiling face that will brighten anyone’s day. She also creates other unique designs. Just scroll the Trotwood Ceramics Instagram page to see what I mean.

Marialice Hatch Pottery brings the clean simplicity of beautiful ceramics to your home. With cool and warm tones fashioned into timeless pieces, you’ll find the perfect piece for your loved one in her collection. Shop on her website to see what I mean.

Art

Locals Only sells numerous local artist’s paintings, prints, and more. If you’re looking for Chattanooga inspired art pieces, created by locals themselves, you’ll want to check these out. Local artists featured are Adrienne Powell, Danielle Landrum, Robin Howe, and Jaime Barks, just to name a few. You’ll find their work available for purchase at the Locals Only store or on the Locals Only website.

Experiences and Adventures

Tours

Elite Helicopters can take you high in the sky to get a bird’s eye view of the Scenic City and surrounding scenic areas. You can also get a gift certificate for your loved ones to enjoy this experience for themselves. Just shop for the right gift certificate on their website (you’ll pick out which ride to gift). And as an added bonus, you can use my discount code EXPLORINGCHATT15 for 15% off your purchase.

The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is perfect for train lovers. You can give the gift of a train ride with access to the museum to your loved ones. Just purchase a gift card (only good for train and museum tickets) online.

Do you have a history buff that’s hard to shop for? Gift them a US Chattanooga Ghost Tour! This walking tour takes you through the heart of downtown Chattanooga and goes over all the spooky history that haunts the area. It really is more of a history lesson than a scary adventure. You can purchase a gift of tickets online. They also have other locations with tours as well, so shop around if you want other location options across the country. And if you have a date and time already picked out, you can purchase the specific tickets using my discount code CHATT10 for 10% off your purchase.

Hands-On Fun

Do you have a puzzle lover? An Exit 4 Escape Rooms gift card would be the perfect gift for them! This Chattanooga escape room experience is unlike any other. It’s family friendly with nothing scary and no locked doors. Instead, you can safely enter the fictitious realm of “Downtown City” and play a part in each story line by solving the puzzles to complete a room. My friends and I recently completed the “Wandmaker’s Curse” and had a really fun time!

High Point Climbing and Fitness is a great place for anyone who loves physical challenges. They offer various climbing walls as well as fitness classes. You can also purchase climbing gear here. Consider getting a High Point gift card for your loved ones to enjoy this experience or purchase some gear.

Do you have a car lover? Speed Hub is a racing simulator located in the Hixson part of Chattanooga. They have 6 racing simulators to try racing various cars on racing circuits. For the car enthusiast, this experience is a great way to have fun without paying for track use in the real world. I have personally tried this place a few times and always enjoyed it. You can purchase a Speed Hub gift card for your loved one so they can experience this too.

Learning

Do you have someone who loves cooking classes? Mix, Mince & Mingle is the perfect place for them! Amy teaches cooking classes right here in Chattanooga. There’s various cuisines to choose from and she carefully walks everyone through how to make everything. Even the most intimidating and complex dishes will become easier than you think. At the end, everyone gets to enjoy what they cooked and eat the full meal with the rest of the class. You can now purchase a Mix, Mince & Mingle gift card so your loved one can book the class they want when it works for them.

Scenic City Clay Arts offers classes for various pottery making experiences. They also have a growing community of local clay artists where members can use the space to create their own pottery products. You can purchase a Scenic City Clay Arts gift card for your loved one so that they can choose the class they want to take when available. Note, Scenic City Clay Arts is outgrowing their current space and moving to a bigger property as soon as they can. This will allow more room for new members and classes. You can also donate to Scenic City Clay Arts to help them be able to move sooner.

Entertainment

Does your loved one enjoy plays or concerts? Gift them tickets to the Tivoli Theater! Note the Tivoli Theater itself is closed for major renovations and isn’t expected to reopen for another year. But you can still get tickets and see shows at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Auditorium or the smaller venue, the Walker Theater, which is located upstairs in the same building.

Purchase tickets to upcoming shows on the theater website, or give a gift certificate for more flexibility. If you purchase tickets as a gift online, you can transfer them to the people you wish to give them to through a Ticketmaster transfer. Or you can call and purchase tickets to have picked up by your loved one at will call.

Self-Care

Give the gift of a massage! Samantha BK is a licensed massage therapist who specializes in making you feel your best during any season of life. She offers her services at Handcrafted Massage in Red Bank, TN. The best way to give someone a massage as a gift would be to contact Samantha directly through Instagram and ask about purchasing a gift certificate. She’ll be able to point you in the right direction with what specifically to get.

Have someone who loves natural remedies? You need to check out Bird Fork Farm. This local farm is located in Dunlap, TN, and sells various herbs, fruits, and vegetables grown and foraged locally throughout the seasons. They offer gift cards as well as other items for sale online. This includes the Herbal Farmacy CSA Share that is open for orders for the 2026 year and also makes a perfect gift. Purchase a year of herbal goodness for your loved one, that can be picked up locally through every season.

Outdoors Exploration and Gear

Exploration

Do you know someone new to the Chattanooga area or new to hiking who would love to explore more hiking trails? You can give them “A Year of Hiking”, my guidebook with 12 hikes, one for each month, 3 for each season of the year. Use my code GiftGuide10 for $10 off your purchase! When you checkout, select the gift option to add the recipient’s email address. And further below will be the “Add Coupon” button to add the discount code.

If you’re wanting to just purchase some hiking and outdoor exploring gear online to send, check out my 12 Hiking Essentials for Hiking in Chattanooga.

Gear

Want to look for outdoor clothing and gear in-person? Mountain Outfitters has plenty of name brands and local brands to choose from. And if you’re unsure what to purchase for your loved one, you can get a gift card so they can shop online or in-person as well. Gift cards must be purchased in-store or over the phone. Mountain Outfitters is a family-owned, local store that has something for everyone. They always have sales going on that are shown on the chalkboard when you first walk in. And upstairs has the Outlet which features items for 50% off.

Food and Drinks

Food

Obviously you can get gift cards for your favorite, local restaurants to give to your loved ones. Chattanooga has too many amazing places to list for this, so I’ll leave that part up to you. Unless, if you’re unfamiliar with the Chattanooga food scene and want some more specific suggestions, just DM me on Instagram or send me an email and ask. I’m happy to help!

Coffee

Have a coffee lover? Chattanooga has plenty of local coffee roasters to choose from. If you already have a favorite, you know where to go. Otherwise, I can suggest (in no particular order): Mad Priest, New Wave, Rembrandt’s, Goodman, Mean Mug, Chattanooga Coffee Company, Mayfly, Velo, and Xozio, just to name a few. Most of these can be purchased online or bought in-store at their respective coffee shops.

Chai

Have a chai lover? You need to check out Cheiman Tea. You can purchase this locally-made chai online or at any of their local vendor locations which are listed on their website.

Beer

Have a craft beer lover? Chattanooga has no shortage of local breweries. You may already have a favorite, but if you need help with some ideas, here are my suggestions (in no particular order): Hutton & Smith, Oddstory, Wanderlinger, Five Wits, Chattanooga Brewing, and Monkey Town. Most of these breweries have cans you can purchase for gifting or gift cards if your loved one would rather enjoy the brewery in-person.

Wine

Have a wine lover? You need to check out Lookout Winery. This family winery is located in Guild, TN, right off Cummings Highway, overlooking Nickajack Lake. Their wine is made using old, Italian processes so the taste is unlike most store-bought wines. They do not ship, so you will have to go in-person to purchase bottles to gift. Or consider getting a gift certificate as the pizza and views create a wonderful dining experience. You can order a gift certificate digitally by emailing Lookout Winery and requesting to purchase one.

Spirits

Have a spirits lover? Chattanooga Whiskey and Gate 11 are locally made whiskey and spirits.

For Chattanooga Whiskey, you can purchase whiskey online to be shipped to select states, or find a bottle in a local Chattanooga liquor store or at the experimental distillery downtown. You can also gift a distillery tour for your loved one or purchase a gift certificate in-store for your loved one to book their own tour.

For Gate 11 you can purchase spirits in-store at the Chattanooga Choo-Choo or give the gift of a distillery tour. Their products are also available in local Chattanooga liquor stores.

Chocolate

Have a chocolate lover? Gift them a locally made chocolate box! There’s the Hot Chocolatier for great flavors you can mix and match, or you can get Cocoa Asante for a more luxurious chocolate gift. Both places also have pre-selected gift boxes and gift cards as well. And Cocoa Asante has a subscription box you can also purchase.

Books and Media

Music

For the music lovers, you can find records from these record stores (listed in no particular order): Yellow Racket Records and Dallo’s Vinyl Love. Yellow Racket Records also offers gift cards online if you’re unsure what to get and want your loved one to pick out their own music gift.

Books and Gifts

For the readers, you can purchase books and other gifts at Reve Coffee and Books or a gift card for your loved one to purchase their own. And for a limited time, if you purchase a $50 gift card, you’ll receive a free drink on the spot as a thank you! Another great thing about Reve is that they carry books by local authors too! They also have fun events going on all year long, so be sure to check out the calendar on their website in case any of these might interest you or your loved one.

Another local book store is the Book and Cover. Not only do they have books, they also have various other giftable items and gift cards if you want your loved one to make their own choice.

Music, Books, and More

Books, vinyls, and other local Chattanooga gifts can be found at the Winder Binder Mercantile. This is a great one-stop shop for people on your list, located in the Northshore part of downtown Chattanooga. And if you want to purchase a gift certificate for your loved one, you can do so in-store.

You can purchase pre-loved (or sometimes still brand new) books and media at McKay’s. Or, if you’re unsure what exactly to give them, you can purchase a digital McKay’s gift card online or purchase a physical one in-store.

For the Kiddos

If you’ve got a child that you’re looking to give the gift of fun educational gift to, you can check out the Creative Discovery Museum. They have a special gift deal for memberships right now. Or, you can gift tickets for different numbers of visits.

Chattanooga is well-known for the Tennessee Aquarium. During the holiday season you can purchase the gift of membership online. Outside of this promotional period, you can only purchase tickets and memberships to give as gifts, in-person at the ticket office at the Tennessee Aquarium. Pro-tip, Creative Discovery Museum membership holders receive a discount on Tennessee Aquarium tickets. And children 4 and under are free!

I’ll also add, you can shop at the Tennessee Aquarium gift shop too, without having to go through the exhibits. This gift shop has some great gifts as well, such as this Chattanooga Riverfront Skyline Building Block Set that I recently purchased for myself. (I only recommend this product for older children because the pieces are tiny and the instructions are complex.)

High Point Climbing and Fitness also has climbing camps for kids. Or, if your kid has gotten really into climbing, they have clubs and competitions for them too.

Conclusion

Chattanooga has so many amazing local gifts and experiences, perfect for giving to your loved ones this year. If you have any local businesses I missed that you would like to see added to this list, just comment them below.
